I just heard about the R.V., Surveys and other things....

Ashley from my insurance company called me about 5 minutes ago and they decided to repair the RV! They 'played' with numbers and Ashley did a lot of the work herself as she was tired of waiting for others to do their job-she sounded frustrated. Camping World has already ordered the parts. It will take 2 to 2 1/2 months to repair which is a bit of a bummer as I am paying the RV payment and for hotel rooms, but oh well. Too bad I had to wait almost a month before the decision was made, but at least it's now made and I know what I'm facing.
I am sitting in 'The Art Of Coffee,' a coffee and lunch place that also sells local art. I am outside on this beautiful day with a warm breeze in my hair and Patch and Wilma next to be visiting with folks who come in and out. I am sipping very slowly on a Chai while I use their internet and a phone that works. Oh, the simple pleasures! Leah, the young woman here gave me the guidance counselors name at the local high school and before I head back to camp I'm going to show up and see if I can chat with him.
I know I have been in a bit of a funk lately with so many aspects of my life seemingly up the air. Evidently I'm not good at that. Now I know what is happening with the RV, which really helps. The basic itinerary is set, although that can change somewhat and that's fine. I'm pretty good at changes and surprises as it turns out and that's fine-even exciting-as long as it's not every day!
I was also feeling that I wasn't getting anything done this week, mostly because of said funk and the lack of internet and phone. I started to think about that today and I have written one article that is complete and Erin will start distributing it to various magazines and other publications next week. I went on Google Maps and figured out my route and miles in between cities and states so as to come up with the itinerary, which I have done. This was not easy as I would have something looked up and plotted and the internet would bump me out and I would have to start over. Nevertheless, that's done. It's funny in that it's only 14 hours from here in Montross, Virginia to Bar Harbor, Maine- almost a walk around the park!
Next, I will email the surveys to all of you who have offered to help send them out. There are 2; one for parents and one for kids. There are populations I haven't touched yet or need more of-kids of Asian descent, Middle Eastern descent and other major cultures in our country. I need Jewish kids, Buddist and Muslim kids, etc. If you would be willing to send or hand out these surveys, that would be very helpful! Let me know.
Here are the surveys that Sonoma Sate has said will be statistically the easiest to analyze.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. When completing the survey it is important to be honest and clear with your answers. When helping a young child take the survey (generally 6 – 8 years of age), it is important that the person asking the child the questions does NOT influence the child’s responses. Please avoid leading the child’s responses, hinting, or answering the questions for the child. Please record only what the child responds and not your interpretations of the child’s responses. The purpose of the Child Survey is to measure the child’s health related knowledge and behaviors. The purpose of the Parent/Legal Guardian Survey is to provide some background and understanding for the child’s responses, and also to get some detailed information about the child’s health related knowledge and behavior. Place an ‘X’ or circle the word “YES” “NO” and fill in a written response where applicable.
