Philadelphia and another thing Patch doesn't like...

posted by Patty James @ 7:09pm, Monday 3 May 2010.

Let's start with Patch...he doesn't like diesel trucks, air brakes, scared to death of lightening, barks at sirens and as of today, will not-no way- go up or down a spiral staircase. Wilma and I started to walk down and he reversed pretty quickly for an old guy, sat down and refused to even step on the top step. I guess the curve-stepped thing was simply the last straw. One more Patch thing today, since the stairs wouldn't do and it's either those or the elevator, and there are no rooms on the 1st floor, the elevator it is. Well, the elevator has one of those glass walls where people in the bar and restaurant can look at you ascending. Perhaps he doesn't like being the center of attention, because he's been in other elevators, but he didn't like this-everyone-can-see-me elevator either. I had a little chat with him and he walked in the elevator after a couple minutes of talking. I quickly closed the door..he crouched down (kinda' sad) but made it all the way to the 2nd floor. The second time on the elevator was better. You wonder what they're thinking...Wilma is a bit of a goof and nothing bothers her. Anything is peachy keen as long as she gets to go...

Here are the kids (3 out of 4 anyway as I forgot to take little Ann's photo, darn it!)

So there were 4 interviews in rural Drums, Pennsylvania today. The kids were, as always, really interesting and also, as usual, I learned a lot. The interviews were at some friends house and John offered to help disseminate surveys as well. He works for Diet to Go and has 150,000 subscribers! So exciting!

I heard from some other friends in NYC today. I am excited about being there, especially since I will have a kitchen for a week! I can cook for people! I miss cooking for people...a lot...

I will most likely stay here again tomorrow night as I have a meeting in Cherry Hill, N.J. on Wednesday, which is only 25 minutes way. It's not worth moving everything in and out for a 25 minute drive.

There is more to say, but frankly I'm a little tired and I have a TV interview in the morning. That's another reason to stay here. It's been pretty warm-too warm for Patch and Wilma to stay in the car for any length of time. Now that I'm staying here tomorrow night too, they can stay in the room while I do the interview. There's more to say, but it will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon....

Isn't Philadelphia a beautiful city! If you can fit it in be sure to see Independence Hall - George Washington walked on those beautiful plank floors!!
