Short but important

I took a memoir writing class last year and everyone encouraged me to write about my personal journey. I started to but it sounded too victimy (no such word, but you get the drift) to me...yuck. The next year I started STL and everyone encouraged me again. Pull yourself up by the boot-straps, continue on (!) -great story! but that sounded a little too self absorbed. I figured out about 10 minutes ago that I am not a memoir kind of gal. Yesterday is just done. I really have no interest in looking back. I can appreciate all the lessons and wisdom from those lessons, but that's it. Whatever I did or happened to me in the past has made me who I am today-a person I like. Whatever the people I have in my life did yesterday made them who they are today and that person is in my life because of who they are today. Bottom line-without a ghost writer, a memoir will never happen.

I had to come to Bar Harbor to figure this out...
