In the morning....and my own (adult) children of service.

Mona just called...

4 kids are coming here (meaning to my RV in the Walmart parking lot) at 9:00 in the morning. How surreal is this? One child is homeless (no..I am not quite prepared to take her with me. Give me strength...) and the other 3 are in Foster Care. I do actually say Foster Care with capital letters. We all know why. Here's the thing-if I brought a child home, my own kids would welcome him or her with open arms. We all have so much love to give.

I have chatted with my daughters Olivia and Kathryn many times, about how I know I will be bringing kids home with me after I get home. Their hearts are open to kids who need us as well. We all have lots of room in in our hearts. Olivia is a a wonderful mother-the best actually, and in life, that is absolutely that is most important thing. I am so proud of her and my wonderful son-in-law David and how they are doing such a wonderful job of raising my sweet little grand daughter Brealyn. Brealyn is happy and well adjusted and independent, even at not-quite 2 years old. Perfect. Olivia also volunteers her time for charitable events such as Breast Cancer Walks. Can you believe this? We all know that my son Russell believes in his heart of hearts that he needs to serve his country and is in Afghanistan. For those of you who are parents, you can imagine how hard this is for me and how proud I am of him. My youngest daughter Kathryn, who is all of 21 years old, does so much for me. She works full-time taking care of balancing my limited finances and doing so much more. I was asked to help next week at The Boy's and Girl's Club in New Orleans again and since I am in Nebraska, Kathryn is my Goodwill Ambassador and is going to teach a class in New Orleans on Monday. Luckily, I had some airline miles left, so it's no money out of pocket. She also volunteered to help abused children in Santa Rosa beginning next week. I can not tell you how proud I am of my children. My children of service. How can I help you? children....
